'LIGHT UP A LIFE'

For the first time, the hospice's largest event will be held in Brightlingsea during the town's Late Night Shopping evening. The Carol Service, during which the tree will be illuminated, starts at 7.00 p.m. in Victoria Place and will be led by Rev. Richard Salenius.

Ian Johnson, Fundraising Director of the hospice said "We are delighted that, thanks to the excellent help of the Brightlingsea Business Association and so many of our supporters who live in the town, we are holding one of our three services locally this year. The tremendous support we continue to receive from so many groups and individuals in the local community is really outstanding. That help has continued since before our first patients arrived in the opening of 1985".

This will be the fourth year of this 'Light Up A Life' event and the lights on each tree will remember someone who has died or show support and honour a friend or someone special. With each minimum donation of £5, the hospice will send a personalised dedication form for the donor to keep or pass on to the person who has been honoured.

The dedication forms will be available from a number of shops and other localities throughout the town.
