Genealogy
During the first months of this year, the BBC will be promoting
organisations activities as part of its History 2000 initiative. The primary goal of
History 2000 is to enable viewers and listeners of history programmes, who may be inspired
by what they have seen or heard, to seek further information on their particular subject
or theme.
Supporting the initiative, Brightlingsea Museum will be contributing local family history,
research and use of documents, under the subject title Genealogy. This is one of the
BBC's subject which also include Local History, Social and Industrial, Military, Oral
History, Archaeology and Ancient History, Art and Architecture.
For information recent additions to the Museum's Library include

The Essex Family Historian (1989 -1999) The Essex Society for Family History.
