BEER FESTIVAL – SPECIAL LOCAL BREWS @ CYC ALL WEEK-END

Thursday 17th June,2004

Passage race from your home port to Brightlingsea Harbour (Skippers declaration)  Registration at Colne Yacht Club.(Note special deal with Brightlingsea Harbourmaster.  Tell them you are with the OGA fleet) Food on demand at the CYC.    Folk Singing at The Swan Hotel in the High Street (all welcome)  CYC bar until 12.30am

Friday 18th June 2004  (High Tide 13:22)

Breakfast at CYC from 7.00 to 12.00.  OGA race / cruise to Osea island for lunch. Bring your own food. Race back to Brightlingsea with new arrivals from Maldon & Blackwater area.  Start from Osea 3pm.

Registration continues at CYC – Food on demand.  Prize giving at CYC at 8.30pm + East Coast Race briefing. Music by “John & Mario”.  CYC bar until 12.30am.

11.30 am. Mayor of Sandwich and his Deputies parade, as ancient custom, from St.James Church to town centre.

Saturday 19st.June,2004.  (High Tide 13:58)

9.30am. Old Gaffers Race start in COLNE Estuary – view from promenade.  ( NB. Allow time to sail to the start line)

Around Lunchtime/Early afternoon. Old Gaffers finish at Batemans Tower Line. Bar open 12noon to 12pm. Breakfast 7am to 12 am. Carvery 12.30 to14.30 and   ‘Chef’s Special’ in the marquee.

1.pm to 4.30 pm. Brightlingsea Town Carnival parade around town plus sideshows at Recreation. ground.

6pm to 9pm.‘Chef’s Special’ in the marquee

7.30 pm. “Music by the Waterside by “The Blackwater Jazz Band”

7.00 pm. Prize giving and awards in the marquee.  CYC bar until 12.00

 

Sunday 20nd.June,2004  (High Tide  14:38)

AM. Judging of boat concourse in the harbour

Breakfast 7am to 12 noon.

Class III and open boats race from Batemen’s Tower to Wivenhoe Sailing Club for late lunch.  Batemans Tower to start “Parade of Sail” up the Colne to Wivenhoe. Lunch at Wivenhoe on the quay and at Wivenhoe Sailing Club. Good viewing at Batemans or along the sea wall.Open boats prizes to be distributed at WSC at lunch-time.

7pm. OGA informal Dinner at Colne Yacht Club. (Carvery + Vegetarian option)  Music by Nikki Robinson and The Old Gaffers Band.  CYC bar until 12.00

 

Monday 21st June 2004  (High Tide  15:11)

Breakfast 7.00am to 12.00.  10.00 Race from Bateman’s Tower to Packing Shed Island (Mersea) for seafood lunch provided by The Company Store, Mersea.  After lunch, return to Brightlingsea.  Food available in CYC in evening.

Passage race to Walton Backwaters.  Skippers declaration.
