There are three schools in Brightlingsea covering all age groups and catering for students from within the town and its surrounding area. All the Brightlingsea Schools are open to both boy and girls and accept students from the surrounding district as well as from the town itself.Brightlingsea County Infants School The Infant School is located in Eastern Road and caters for the 4-7 year age group. The modern and spacious school building was opened in 1967 and teaches the National Curriculum with an emphasis on literacy, speaking and mathematical skills. Facilities at the school include a library extension, and outside playhouse, adventure play area and a pond in a wildlife area.Visit the Schools own website on www.brightlingsea-inf.essex.sch.uk Brightlingsea County Junior School The Junior School is also to be found in Eastern Road and accepts students between 7 and 11. The school building was opened in 1974 and is of an open plan design. There are twelve classes and the school's facilities include a hall equipped for gymnastics, reference library, special needs area, computer room, pottery area and music room.
