Co-operative Women's Guild
A long established group meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in the Community Centre. Most meetings feature a speaker and a demonstration
Red Cross Centre
The Red Cross centre offers a medical loan service that covers emergency short term loans of items ranging from bed pans to wheelchairs. members provide first aid cover for local events and man the first aid post by the paddling pool in the summer. The hall is available for hire for functions and parties.
Brightlingsea Society
The Brightlingsea Society is an environmental and historical organisation whose aim is to conserve the beauty, history and character of Brightlingsea. They hold regular monthly meetings in St Sabin's Hall in Richard Avenue each month. organise walks and act as guides on behalf of the County Council at the nearby Thorrington Tide-mill. They take an interest in new developments and changes in the town as well as monitor the natural and seminatural areas around Brightlingsea.
Brightlingsea Beach Hut Association Brightlingsea Beach Hut Association is open to all beach hut owners. We aim to provide services to members such as a patrol twice a day to check for weather damage or vandalism to huts and to represent members' interests at the Forum of Beach Huts Associations and the local councils. We also support the community by taking park in events such as the Horticultural Show, The Christmas Tree Festival and Decorated Beach Hut Competitions.

Business Association
The Brightlingsea Business Association is open to all bona fide businesses in the Brightlingsea area. All businesses are welcome to the monthly meetings held at DLR Properties 5 Manor Parade. The meetings usually take place on the first Monday of each month.
Family Support
Family Support are a voluntary group whose aims are to improve the quality of like for the frail and housebound as well as others in need of some assistance. The local branch are based at Well House in Chestnut Way and offer a one to one visiting network, a programme of social events, weekly lunches, afternoon teas, excursions and a service of individual transport which is not provided by statutory authority.
Ancient order of Foresters Friendly Society
One of the oldest organisation in Brightlingsea, Court "Lifeboat" of the ancient order of Foresters was formed in Brightlingsea on the 24th March 1864. It is a fraternal social and benevolent organisation democratically controlled by the members, providing sickness and death benefits, endowments and other assurances.
The benevolent side, disburses grants to member's orphans, educational grants to members and several lifeboats have been provided to the R.N.L.I .
Court "Lifeboat" operates from its own premises in Brightlingsea

There are two Rainbow Guide, three Brownie Guide and on Guide Companies in Brightlingsea meeting at a number of different venues.

Rainbow guides

Mondays - Meeting from 5pm until 6pm at St James Church Centre.
Wednesdays - Meeting from 4.40pm until 5.30pm at the St James Church Centre

Brownie Guides

Mondays - Meet at the New Church Hall in Queen Street from 6.30pm until 8pm.
Tuesdays - Meet at the Salvation Army Citadel in Tower Street from 6pm until 7.30pm
Wednesdays - Meet at the St. James Church Centre, High Street, from 6pm until 7.15pm

Guides

3rd Brightlingsea - Meet on Tuesdays at the Colne Community School from 7.30pm until 9pm. Change of Venue from 29 Feb 2000 - St James Church Centre
during term time.

Church Lads & Church Girls Brigade

Youth organisation in which a band is foremost. Attached to St James Church they run a number of sections for different age groups.
Monday - 7 to 10 year old group meet in the St James Centre from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Band Meetings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm
Fridays - 5 to 7 year old group meet at St James Church Centre from 5.15pm until 6.15pm.
10 to 13 year old group meet from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Band meets from 7.30pm until 8.45pm.
13 to 21 year old group meets from 8.40pm until 10.pm

Scouts

The 4th Brightlingsea Scout group meet at the Scout HQ on the Lower Park Road recreation Ground and run one Scout Troop, one Venture Unit, two Cub Scout packs and two Beaver Colonies.

Beavers

Tuesday - Ottawa Colony meets  6pm until 7.15pm
Friday - Quebec Colony meets, 6pm until 7.15pm

Cub Scouts

Monday - Mowgli pack meets 6.30pm until 8pm
Wednesday - Spartan pack meets 6.30pm until 8pm

Scouts

Tuesday - Kingfisher Troop meet from 7.30pm until 9.15pm

Venture Scouts

Thursday - Tornado Venture Unit meet from 7.30pm until 9.30pm

Army Cadet Corps

There is also an active Cadet Corps that meet at its own Headquarters.
