Brightlingsea Carnival Association 2000

The Annual General Meeting of the Carnival Association was held at the Community Centre on Friday 11^th of February. The retiring committee were re elected en bloc with the addition of three new members. Of those present, the following positions were filled.

Chairman, Jayne Chapman
Vice Chairman, Andrew Mitson.
Secretary, Duncan Saunders.
Treasurer, Tony Chapman.
Queen’s Secretary, Tracey Munson.

The remainder of the committee are,
Dave Rusby, Steve Faint, Dave Stone Alan Lowry, Janet Russell, Stan and Sarah Greenfield. Roy Birnie had sent his apologies and was elected in his absence

On Saturday 26^th February the Queens choosing was held at the Community Centre, there was a good turn out of contestants for the Princesses contest but sadly only one for the Queen. It was decided to enter the older Princess contestants into the Queens group. After a long and difficult judging by Peter and Carole Godden the elected court are,

Queen, -  Leanne Scales.

Princesses, -  Natacha Bines and Georgie Munson.
