Brightlingsea In Bloom was founded in 1994 to create floral displays for a Land, Sea and Air Display commemorating 50 years of Peace 1995.

Since then, all sections of the Community have generously funded the 'In Bloom' entries for the Anglia In Bloom and Britain In Bloom competitions.

A dedicated team of volunteers spends many hours creating, maintaining and watering floral displays throughout the Town. An attractive avenue of mature trees planted along Promenade Way through the 'In Memoriam' Scheme, a donation of twenty-four trees by the Environment Agency, plus the creation of a Commemorative Garden reinstating the name Gandergoose Green, have transformed the entrance to the Town's Waterside areas. A continuous planting of Spring bulbs, shrubs and wildflowers ensures bloom for all Seasons.
