ANYONE can get Arthritis. YOU can help us find the cure.
What is Arthritis?
Arthritis is a collective term for diseases that cause damage to the joints. Rheumatism
is a general term for any pain arising from the bones, muscles or joints. Anyone at any
age, not just the older generation, can suffer from Arthritis. At present, around eight
million people in the UK have some kind of Arthritis or Rheumatic disease, including one
child in every thousand.
Who are ARC?
Arthritis Research Campaign is the only major medical research Charity
in the UK solely dedicated to funding medical research in hospitals and medical schools to
discover the cause and the cure of Arthritis and Rheumatism. Completely independent, with
no support from the Government, it has to raise £16 million every year just to maintain
its current level of research.
As well as research, the Charity is involved in educating the medical
profession and the public in all matters relating to Arthritis and Rheumatic diseases. It
publishes and distributes, free of charge, information booklets on over sixty topics to
help patients understand and cope better with their arthritis.
How can YOU help?
Arthritis Research Campaign relies entirely on the generosity of the public and any
help you can give us is always welcome. The best way to make a regular donation is by Deed
of Covenant especially if you pay the standard or higher rate of income tax. Arthritis
Research Campaign can claim back from the Inland Revenue the standard rate of tax you have
already paid, thus increasing the value of your gift at no extra cost to you. Higher rate
taxpayers can also claim back from the Inland Revenue the difference between the standard
and higher rate tax applicable to their Deed of Covenant. Other ways you can help are:
-
Credit Card Donations
-
Leaving a Legacy in your Will
-
Gift Aid
-
Payroll Giving
